Presenting all you need to know about the Eagles ahead of Saturday's Grand Final at the MCG:

Form
The Eagles were beaten by the Swans at Optus Stadium in round one, but they rebounded to win their next 10 games, a run that included an impressive victory over the reigning premier, Richmond.

Adam Simpson's men were inconsistent during the rest of their home and away campaign. They had an impressive win over Collingwood at the MCG in round 17, but suffered losses to Essendon, Adelaide and North Melbourne along the way.

West Coast returned to form with a hard-fought win over the Pies in the second qualifying final at Optus Stadium, then advanced to the decider by thrashing Melbourne in the second preliminary final at the same venue.

What they're saying
The following is an excerpt from a story, centred around Elliot Yeo, that was published on AFL.com.au on Wednesday:

There is a sense of calmness about the Eagles – 12 of whom will return to the Grand Final stage.

Part of that is Simpson's influence, but West Coast boasts a mature core group which is on a mission after falling short in the past three September campaigns.

"We've got one game to go, and one job to do and four quarters to play," Yeo said.

"It's probably a little bit different to 2015 when we were probably thinking 'what's going on here?' and riding the wave.

"It feels like we've got a job to do but I'm sure Collingwood will be thinking the same thing as well."

The Eagles have beaten the Pies twice this season, including a 35-point confidence-booster at the MCG in round 17, but Nathan Buckley's men could be peaking at the right time after dismantling Richmond in a preliminary final stunner.

"To be able to beat Richmond at the 'G, and especially with the form Richmond have had, it's phenomenal," Yeo said.

"We're pretty confident that our game plan and style of play will hold up pretty well. But Collingwood are a really good team and their pressure around the football was second to none against Richmond.

"They'll be bringing that and their intensity as well, so it's going to be game on and I'm looking forward to it."

Players to watch
The aforementioned Yeo was best on ground in the Eagles' qualifying final win over Collingwood at Optus Stadium.

He backed up that performance by gathering 23 disposals and laying six tackles in West Coast's preliminary final demolition of Melbourne last weekend.

Josh Kennedy shapes as another key player. The star forward looked rusty against Pies three weeks ago, but he was back in form against the Demons, booting four goals and taking a number of strong marks.

Last time: Second Qualifying Final, 2018 at Optus Stadium
Match report excerpt:
West Coast has snatched an epic qualifying final victory and broken Collingwood hearts after downing the brave Magpies by 16 points in a classic contest at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.

After trailing the visitors by 10 points at three-quarter time, the Eagles stormed home, inspired by some brilliance from twin towers Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling, to book a home preliminary final for the first time since 2015.

West Coast booted five goals to one in the fourth quarter, running over the top of an under-siege Collingwood, despite losing vital defender Brad Sheppard to a potentially season-ending hamstring injury in the first term.

In an unforgettable final at WA's new football mecca, the Eagles' most experienced September campaigner Lewis Jetta was the hero, snapping a brilliant major with just over five minutes on the clock to put them ahead by four points.

It was the 11th lead change of drama-packed encounter, and when Darling kicked his second goal soon after, the home side had done enough.

At the final siren, Jack Redden sent the record 59,585-strong crowd into raptures by slotting his set shot, ensuring the Eagles ran out 12.14 (86) to 10.10 (70) winners.
